ETDXA Minutes
for the meeting of
May 18, 2009
The regular meeting of the East Tennessee DX Association was held on Monday night May 18, 2009. Eighteen (18) members and seven (7) visitors were in attendance.
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Vice-President Dave Garner, K4YRK.
Introductions were made. A show of hands indicated at least six hams in attendance had visited the Dayton Hamvention. Reports were made by David Bower, K4PZT; George Dominick, W4UWC and Bill O’Kain, K4LTA.
DX reports were given including up-dates on 20 meters, 17 meters and 6 meters.
It was reported that DX for WIN has a bandmap update available.
A Six Metre Handbook has been produced by the RSGB and is available from ARRL.
Dave Garner, K4YRK, introduced John Rothrock, AK4Z and Amy Rothrock, KT4E who gave a very interesting and informative presentation about their recent dxpedition/vacation trip to Granada. Also included on this trip were ETDXA members Roy Freeman, KE4TG; Ruby O’Kain, K4UPS; and Bill O’Kain, K4LTA; along with other family members. The presentation included ham radio operations as well as sight seeing activities.
Following the presentation was a question and answer session.

The club is in need of a newsletter editor. If anyone would like to assume this duty please contact Willard Sitton, W4HZD.
The next meeting will be June 15, 2009. The program will be given by Doug Campbell, N1CWR.
